today is blissful.
peaceful.
beautiful.

it's the last Monday of my summer.
but it feels like the first Monday of autumn.
it's gently raining outside.
it smells like autumn. that nutty, fresh, leafy, air smell.
the smell of walks through the mountains.
the smell of pumpkin pie baking in the oven.
the smell of the crunch of leaves under your boots.
the smell of love and laughter.
autumn is my absolute favorite.
favorite season.
including my favorite holiday; thanksgiving.
including my favorite birthdays; my father's, grandmother's, grandfather's, aunt's, cousin's, and other cousin's.
including my favorite colors; yellow, orange, and auburn.
including my favorite fashion; scarves, boots, leggings, tights, long socks, sweaters, cardigans, coats.
including my favorite foods; sugar & spice, cornbread & turkey, pumpkin pie & whipped cream, squash & zucchini, apple pie & vanilla bean ice cream.
it's the season of change.
it's wonderful.
