4th of July.

Me waking up on the morning of July 4th is like a child waking up on Christmas morning. I get extremely excited. This is practically one of the best holidays in the history of ever. Our family loves to decorate the entire house in red white and blue. We had a red and white checkered tablecloth on the table, miniature American flags scattered everywhere, old fashioned Coke bottles and Cracker Jacks for eating, and sparklers ready to go for later. Of course we started off our southern Independence day with chicken & waffles. Honestly, it is one of the wackiest yet yummiest meals ever. Try it.

Outfits are always a must for us ladies.
My sister & I dressed as shown below:

Her outfit: red tank top, blue & white striped shirt, red & white toms, white pearls & earrings.
Her poster: Happy 4th of July. Freedom and Independence.

My outfit: British flag shirt, blue pants, red & white converse.
My poster: Go Britain!

...I'm a rebel.
Go King George.
(If you know me well, you'll know I am the rebellious one of the family. Rules are meant to be broken. You'll also know I love England. My room could be mistaken for London. Also, I love America. I'm not actually rooting for King George. I think I'm hilarious, I'm really not.)

There isn't a day that I'm not baking. So for July 4th I had to make brownie bites. & cookie bites (my invention.) They were all eaten rather quickly. Then for our late lunch/early dinner we had a cookout. Burgers, BBQ chips, coke, chocolate cake, etc. I admit our family dinners can get a bit wild. Wild as in extremely hilarious. Extremely hilarious as in bursting blood vessels in your brain you are laughing so hard. It's great.

We made a plan to drive to Starbucks to watch the fireworks. There's a really great view of the fireworks there...and hey, there's coffee. I am addicted to Starbucks people. Anyway, I changed my shirt so I wouldn't get beat up by some drunk patriotic redneck. We piled into the car, got some coffee, saw some friends, and settled down for some fireworks. The fireworks were beautiful. The finale was exceptional. All around awesome.

At home, we got out the sparklers. I happen to be terrified of sparklers...they just...sparks...at my fingers...ahhh? Am I the only one? ...fine.

T'was a good day.

how was yours?
